Manage classes

When to use this procedure

Use this procedure to add, edit, or delete the classes that will be available to select from when you schedule classes on the Scheduling window. Or, edit and delete scheduled classes directly from the Scheduling window.

Caution: The following steps change all past and future instances of a class on your calendar.

Steps to complete - class maintenance

Select from the options below to manage your class schedules.

Prerequisites: You must establish appointment types, instructors, areas, and fee codes before you can create a class schedule.

  1. On the Maintain Class window, click Add.
  2. Select an appointment type in the Appointment box.
  3. Enter the date the class begins in the Begin Date box and, if applicable, enter a final class date in the End Date box.
  4. Enter the minimum number of students required to hold the class in the Min box and enter the maximum number of students to schedule for the class in the Max box.
  5. Select an instructor and instruction area in the Instructor and Area boxes.
  6. Select an instructor fee in the Fee Code box.
  7. Select the check box for each day of the week the class will be held and enter start and end times for the class.
  8. Select Alternate Week Scheduling to indicate that this class takes place every other week.

Did you know? If you have a class that will be on one day one week (such as Tuesday) and on a different day on alternate weeks (Thursdays), create two separate class schedules. Be sure to select a start date for the appropriate week (not the same week) and select the Alternate Week Scheduling check box for each.

  1. Select the non-inventory category to use to make ledger entries for this class in the Category box.
  2. Click Save.
  1. On the Maintain Class window, select the class you want to edit in the Class grid.
  2. Revise information about the class as necessary using the fields and boxes to the right of the grid.
  3. Click Save.
  1. On the Maintain Class window, select the class you want to delete in the Class grid.
  2. Click Delete.

Steps to complete - on the fly

Select from the options below to edit classes on-the-fly from the Scheduling window.

  1. On the Scheduling window, select the class you want to edit on the calendar.
  2. Right-click the class and click Edit Class. The Maintain Class window displays.
  3. Revise information about the class as necessary using the fields and boxes to the right of the grid.
  4. Click Save.
  1. On the Scheduling window, select the class you want to delete on the calendar.
  2. Right-click the class and click Delete Class.
  3. On the message that displays, click Yes.
